31.05.2011. HAPPY RBAF ANIVERSARY...!

This day is a public holiday, early morning my family went fishing at our usual place.
Hj Bakar's Jetty.

Aanisah caught the first fish that morning, a catfish aka Utik.
Aanisah caught her second one, a grey snapper aka ketambak.

Then I caught a river ray aka tuka tuka.

(Children) Pa..! beranak ia pari atu
The ray gave birth to a baby ray. The ray was released back to water.

Suddenly Yusuf fishing line slacken... Yusuf checked to find out why. Yusuf felt the tight line tension....
Yusuf got a big fish fight. The fish went underneath the jetty... Yusuf struggled...
Later he successfully caught his biggest Trevally (Languran) ever. What a fish...

Lastly I caught my self a grey snapper.

Until next time... our saga continues...

Belais, Belais... plenty of them.

HRasidi caught his popular fish a 'Goldspotted spinefoot' rabbit fish. This Belais was his favorite to fish at his home at Tamoi, water village.

There used to be a lot of them under the kitchen-he said.

Saturday, 28 May 2011

Finally I caught a Belais Kalu.

This is a big Belais, aka Belais Kalu.

Other fish caught that morning. Coral fishes.

This is Yusuf first Mangrove Jack.

This is his first big Grouper.

 This is ikan Belais.

Later I got a smaller Ungah. There were two unggah lost and drop back to water. One was a big one.
Amir almost caught two fish by casting lure. Dont worry...Mir, try again soon.

ONCE UPON A TIME...THERE WAS AN ANGLER WHO NEVER CAUGHT ANY FISH HERE AT SERASA BEACH

But today, finally he caught a lane Snapper, Ketambak
So as this guy, caught another mangrove jack using the same lure he used yesterday.

IBNU SABIL & FRIENDS SUCCESSFUL TRIP TO PELUMPONG.

Bigger than two days ago, Ibnu Sabil caught ikan Beberahan aka Grey Snapper at Pelumpong, Muara .

Everyone got something to show to us... Here is Adnan & Ishak with Ibnu Sabil.

THE STIK FIRST CASTING LURE CATCH, A MANGROVE JACK.

My new friends, Hj Fadhil, Juki & C Raz, brought me to their favourite casting lure site.
Lubok...? (not sure what they called it).

Ungah aka Mangrove Jack, a small one but enough to be my everlasting memory. Used a Surecatch: 70mm grey/silver minnow lure.

Here is my casting lure Guru, Hj Fadhil, targeting his potential site..  He caught one ikan Bulan2.

Earlier, SiRaz caught  two ikan Dalak. Juki also caught one too.

Congratulations everyone and thank you for such a great experience, especially Hj Fadhil for your great lessons.

TO BE AN ANGLER...NEED TO BE PATIENCE. HERE IS THE RESULT.

IBNU SABIL has an unusual way of making the leader of his hook line. He has been here twice and only today caught a nice lane/gray snapper fish, Ketambak.
Three of us, Rasidi, me & IbnuSabil went here again after failing to caught the big "miscalled" yesterday.
Kawan kami ani lain caranya membuat perambut sampai sangsi kami kan teknik nya. Sampai naik sekong anak Beberahan, kagum kami tarus. Jika kitani yakin dan Tawakal, InsyaAllah diperkenankan jua rezeki. Rezeki ditangan Tuhan.
Tahniah Man..!

Umbrella..? Raincoat is better. Here is the Stik a raincoat model.

Rain stopped. Sahdan caught two Umpak and one Ketambak.

I got one Ketambak and one Catfish.

Amir showed his diner to be... ikan Umpak. He caught one catfish too.
Before went home, each of us have a few big miscalled... Everyone was wondering what fish might that be. We will try again soon.
Ibnu Sabil & Rasidi are you free tomorrow afternoon...?

IBNUSABIL caught the most fishes in Friday Morning.

KK Anglers now brought along our very close friend. The last time fishing with him was about more than 4 months ago.

Here IbnuSabil with the largest Archer fish I ever caught. He caught more than 15 fishes, mostly sempriding. Congratulations!

(IS) Here is the fish... (Stik) where?
(IS) O no..! the fish drop back to the water.
(Stik) Too bad.  Try again...

Rasidi caught the best fish today, ikan Sapihee

My fishing rod bent, the bell rang vigorously, every one on their feet to check whats the catch.
A catfish, ikan Bedukang...!

Yusuf is back...! He was the first to catch a fish. Here is ikan kurisi (I think).

Yusuf caught a red coloured Sempriding.

Ikan Kurisi by Rasidi. (Background: Is that IbnuSabil caught a big one...?)

I got the skill to catch this archer fish.

Here is the second one. Me (Stik) caught the most big fishes that morning.
All archer fish, 5 big ones...!

TIPS: How to fish an archer fish:
Used a small live shrimp (a big insect, like cricket is better),
keep afloat on the surface (no need sinker, a small swivel will do)
play around, close to where the archer fish are.
Gulp..! by a big archer. Easy...

Finally before went home, Rasidi caught his first Archer fish.
Thank you everyone for a great morning especially Rasidi for your kindness,  Roti Talor breakfast, baits, etc.
Too bad our aim to catch Ungah and belais was not achieved. Anyway...

Till next time.. Our SAGA CONTINUES>>>

Actually there were stray cats there, eating our baits and the fishes we caught. The cat was full bellied when it left us. FISHes CAUGHT CATCH From Nature & GIVE back to Nature. All of my archer fishes given to the Indonesian sailor man.

3 HOURS SUNDAY MORNING CAUGHT 9 FISHES.

I went to Serasa ALONE, near sunken boats water. I used to go there few months ago with other KKanglers. The others could'nt make it, busy with their own business. Anyway...
Here is my first Mangrove Jack aka Ungah for along time. The last time I caught was about 20 years ago!

In 30 minutes caught another Unggah and then a Ketambak.

I got few baits left, decided to use a smaller hook for small mouth- big fish ikan Belais and ikan Takat.

I caught these too.
Next time bring, live shrimp size $1-15 for ikan Languran and some dead shrimps for Belais.

HEAVY RAIN ON FRIDAY MORNING..., NO KING SIZE SHRIMP...IT IS NO GO FOR US.

We couldn't find any shrimp big enough to be used as bait for Jerudong/Tungku/JPMC beach.
So we went to our usual place, even though it was raining, it didn't stop us from releasing our feeling of angling.
Here is JR from Dallas...Kg. Belimbing actually.
Rasidi was the star for that morning, caught a mini grouper.

Later we both caught Utik. Rasidi taught me how to throw a casting net.

Tuesday, 10 May 2011

They said near JPMC have big fishes....

Wow, nice scenery. So Relaxing with cool breeze from the sea. Reached here at beach of JPMC at 5pm.

Rasidi used one hook two shrimps bait... Here fishy...fishy..... bite one get one free...

"kail panjang sejengkal..... jangan kan cuba lautan yang dalam..."
No worries... no fish... no problem.... Experience is important... Bottom & casting here.. but no luck.
No fish today.... eh Stik...? Yes, no fish guys. I tried my best... even gave 3 baits in one hook !
Everytime I checked, the shrimps died and lost all their feet, eaten by some small fishes.

Almost Maghrib, better start packing and go back home.
